  • Read-only by design

Sniffs Albion's network traffic locally via Npcap. Never modifies the game client, never sends anything back to Albion's servers.

  • Tauri / Rust desktop app

30 MB installer. No Electron, no Chromium runtime baggage. Tray-resident, idle CPU near zero.

  • Source available

Every line of the parser, packet handler and uploader is in the public repo. If you want to audit before you trust, you can.

Questions a returning Albion player asks

Short answers. Anything else, ping us on Discord.

Is the desktop companion safe?

Yes. The companion reads Albion's network traffic locally via Npcap (the same packet-capture library Wireshark uses) and uploads bank snapshots to AlbionCore over HTTPS. It is read-only and never modifies the game client, doesn't inject anything, and never sends data back to Albion's servers. The source code is publicly available so you can audit before you trust.

Does this break Albion's terms of service?

No. AlbionCore reads Albion's PUBLIC, unencrypted network traffic on your own machine. Sandbox Interactive's stance is that local packet-reading tools are permitted as long as they don't modify game state or automate gameplay. The companion does neither: it observes inventory and uploads snapshots, nothing else. If SBI ever updates that stance, the companion will be the first to comply.

Can I use this on the Asia or Americas servers?

Yes. AlbionCore mirrors AODP across all three servers (Europe, Americas, Asia). Set your active region on /profile after sign-in and every market surface (Cockpit, Trip Planner, Crafting Calculator, item landings) pulls prices from that server. The Gold market lets you compare all three in one place.

How accurate are the prices?

Prices come from the Albion Online Data Project, a community-maintained dataset that polls Albion's marketplace and aggregates the observations. AODP updates roughly every 5 minutes; AlbionCore caches AODP responses for the same window so the load is gentle. Each price row carries a freshness chip (fresh / stale / cold) so you know how recent the read is.

Do I need an invite to sign up?

No. The closed alpha ended in August 2026 — signing in with Discord is the grant. There's no invite code, no waitlist and no approval step: you land straight in the dashboard. Item pages, the crafting, refining, cooking and alchemy calculators and the flip finder all run without an account at all; signing in is what saves your work and nets it against your real bank.
